I love your subtility!

Honestly, I love clicking on any submission of yours. I love your synth work in every song I've sampled of yours. Along with the drums and strings you created a fine work that I'd listen to over and over again.

flashmac responds:

Oh I didn't notice you reviewed this lol. Thanks a lot man, those are very inspiring words haha. Same goes to you.

Very Well Done!

This song is so variant in melody and I love it. The accelerando just drives me crazy. This song does a great job of illustrating a panic. The driving percussion along with the the P5 harmony do quite well. One thing...please turn up your lower bass. It will give the song much more direction than it already does. This song fits your theme well.

Bob-Music responds:

Thank you! If you fancy another listen I've upped the bass for you :)

I think it could be more powerful.

I'm reviewing as I listen.

So far, a very nice breathy entry. It's getting me to that high that I love with ambience. I do not recommend the rhodes FL has to offer though. Soundfonts, though huge, have much better sound quality. I say this because the vibrato of the rhodes is bringing me from high to haunted.

I realized this is a common mistake, but in the song you are colliding key signatures and the song's out of tune almost completely. I think this is because of the pad that is going very sharp. This is not your fault, but if you hear it, tweak the pitch so that it does not fall into a different key. I realize I'm being pretty blunt but I'm only doing this to help you. The percussion as well doesn't say ambience to me. It's a good start though. I'll mail you some improvements as you requested.

DJ-Diceman responds:

alright, thanks for the tips, i kinda get most of it and ill see what i can do
as for the ambience... i really didnt know where to put it, so i think ambience i the wrong spot to put it

The Synths!!!!

Okay...this beat is amazing and I'm favouriting this! Those synths had the fulness in melody and countermelody that I'm always looking for in somebody's sound. The beat could have had slightly more variety in my opinion and the snares cuing a transition were slightly too loud. I would love to battle you guys sometime. They both sound awesome!

5/5
9/10

flashmac responds:

Thanks for the review man. Your right, the beat could've had more variety, but if someone were to rap on this, you don't want the beat to change too much. A battle sounds good though man. You'd probably whoop me though, haha.

YES!

I love it! Opens up so niceley and in such a short time frame too. I wish it were longer. This shouldn't have taken you and hour though. But this is still a really good loop.

alix1 responds:

I am not very good with origional songs.
i wiped the piano roll clean so many times im suprised it didn't get shiny. lol

Thanks for the review!!!

Very Tainted...GOOD!

First off, by tainted I mean like rusted but full of potential in a good way.

Though you've done an amazing job with this piece and you shouldn't stop. The piano line is really good. C-Minor is my favourite key by the way XD. But with the piano line to give it some finesse, I'd recommend some chords to help the melody. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out a couple of my songs (I recommend Home (Keys of a Piano)). I'm not trying to advertise myself but I don't know how to get my point across any other way.

Now, when I said before rusted with potential, I meant this song should be a lot more passionate. I was expecting a much bigger climax. Again, chords are your friend. I do like the bass line, but in a classical song you should leave that to the piano.

But an amazing piece. Give me more when you upload!

BlazingDragon responds:

Yes, C-Minor is a good key to be in. :P

I think I see what you are saying as far as chords go, but I almost intentionally left the progression simple. I pretty much only used three chords through the song, and used stylistic changes for variety. If I were to extend it, I would definitely add a contrasting section with more emphasis on different chords and I would build up to a greater climax. With as short as this is, though, I decided to make it almost anticlimactic in the end.

I wasn't sure whether this belonged in the classical genre because of the bass guitar. I specifically wanted the bass to handle it and not the piano, but I guess that may be unfit for the genre.

Thank you for the honest review! It was very informative versus the usual, "great job dude, lol, this was the pwnage!" :P I suppose its not technically classical, but I really don't want to put it in misc. If I ever decide to extend it, I will make sure to give it more emphasis on chordal changes and will make a big, dramatic climax. Thanks again! :D

Yes!

As soon as the beat came in, I was on this. The piano sets a bar and then the pads just model the other half of the track I was looking for. The synth strings complemented the track very well! One thing I could say is that you could put some nice 7th chords in there and possibly a bridge with a jazz chord to make the song much more dimensional. Very good work!

flashmac responds:

Thanks for the review man. I have no idea what 7th cords or jazz cords are though. I never had piano lesson, haha.

Subtely Pretty

You reviewed me so I'm returning the favour. XD

This song has a nice flow to it, however I think it deserves more of a flow. I feel that the bassline is driving the song almost like "come on, don't lag behind". I feel the song would be better if it gave the illusion of lagging behind. The background pad gives the song a bouquet that I adore! Careful with the woodwind however, it's going slightly sharp.

But this is a brilliant piece and I give you an 8/10 and a 4/5! AWESOME! XD!

wyldfyre1 responds:

yea i hope to add more to this some time soon. thnx for the review.

Hard Beat Right Here!

To be honest, I was not gonna review but as soon as the beat came in I was like 'I gotta give him kudos'. The way the synths complement the percussion's variety is brilliant. You really expanded on your synths which I like. Too tough!

flashmac responds:

Haha, thanks man.

Very good collab

I like how the different style of synths and the drums came together to make such a well-rounded sound. However, the synths could expand more in terms of melody and countermelody, as well as the percussion in the hi-hats; but it is still a very good track.

Drop by and listen to my new track Move Out of My Way and provide to hear some feedback, I'd love to hear from you.

flashmac responds:

Thanks for the tips man. You got a good point. Thanks for the review, I'll keep those ideas in mind for later tracks.

I am a producer and a tough critic. Give me anything and I'll be brutally honest.
