Flash!

It's been a while since I've heard you hit it this hard. Your top string definitely gave the track direction and is heavily driven by your variations in percussion. There's not much to say for you to improve on. I'd just say to decrease the reverb as the resonance staying in there a bit too much. I'd love to collab sometime. Nice work!

flashmac responds:

haha yeah! It's good to get a review from you man. But yeah, there is waaaaaay too much reverb lol. Especially on the toms haha. I'll probably never get around to fixing it, but thanks anyway.

What makes you think you butchered my style???

You did much better than I thought you would. You must have perfect pitch as well! You got 90% of the notes exactly from the notes the same and what you didn't "get right" was an artistic, executive decision you made and it was the right one. I'm very flattered, by the way. I don't think I'm as great as you say I am but okay lol.

The octave covers you did in addition to the strings were very smart and added a much darker feel. I love dark music :)!

S-Rock responds:

Thanks A TON :) thats my Type of style ..."Dark"
But yeah I tried so hard to listen and get the notes Right lol

Again, some more improvement...

The beat was an improvement from "Party Hardy" it had what mainstream has nowadays. However, it did lack melodic quality. Again, add some chord progressions. Countermelodies are also key.

This may not be your fault, but the reverb on that mic of yours is very distracting. Fix that by getting a new mic but not all of us are blessed with such power to change that. Your flow was not very convincing, considering that you went completely off beat for some of it. I trust that was a bit of improvisation, but you should know that you should always stay on beat. Again, the lyrics did not stand out me. On both of your tracks you sound bored. Liven it up! Have fun while your doing this. Next time, bring a more decent flow.

MaoDaMighty responds:

This beat was made in like 15 minutes, I downloaded a demo of the new fruity loops and just exported the song I made to an MP3 (yeah its simple, but Im still learning). I gotta agree with you, it doesnt sound like I was enjoyed recording this (though the track doesn't seem like a happy/fun flow). Thanks for your words man, I appreciate your honesty, it helps me focus on improvement, peace

Still Amzing

This is my favourite song from you, in general. However, I prefer the percussion of the last version. I don't feel this percussion does not satisfy the driving strings and synths. It takes away a lot of power from the song. With a song like this, yuo want hardcore power all the way through. But, this song is still amazing, don't get me wrong. I'm just picking because you know how I do...lol...

flashmac responds:

You and your pickyness smurf! But I think the drums fit the beat better in this one. I guess it's just a matter of taste. Thanks for the review

Calming...

Wow...your balance of synths and percussion just makes the song so amazing. I am really impressed with the way you complimented the vibrato of the flute with the temple bells and pads. This is pretty good.

Hmmmm...

It's very interesting to listen to but you do leave the song empty when synths are not present. Your tweaking of synths near the end is nice and your percussion is wierdly nice. Where do you get your synths?

I love your subtility!

Honestly, I love clicking on any submission of yours. I love your synth work in every song I've sampled of yours. Along with the drums and strings you created a fine work that I'd listen to over and over again.

flashmac responds:

Oh I didn't notice you reviewed this lol. Thanks a lot man, those are very inspiring words haha. Same goes to you.

Your two styles are meant for each other!

Honestly this song is very nice and full like I always like. I can hear both of your elements that make the song so nice. The counter melodies you brought in this song compliment the main line very well. The minor modulations take to an all-time high and the electronic percussion makes it all the more electronic. Very well done.

Very Well Done!

This song is so variant in melody and I love it. The accelerando just drives me crazy. This song does a great job of illustrating a panic. The driving percussion along with the the P5 harmony do quite well. One thing...please turn up your lower bass. It will give the song much more direction than it already does. This song fits your theme well.

Bob-Music responds:

Thank you! If you fancy another listen I've upped the bass for you :)

I think it could be more powerful.

I'm reviewing as I listen.

So far, a very nice breathy entry. It's getting me to that high that I love with ambience. I do not recommend the rhodes FL has to offer though. Soundfonts, though huge, have much better sound quality. I say this because the vibrato of the rhodes is bringing me from high to haunted.

I realized this is a common mistake, but in the song you are colliding key signatures and the song's out of tune almost completely. I think this is because of the pad that is going very sharp. This is not your fault, but if you hear it, tweak the pitch so that it does not fall into a different key. I realize I'm being pretty blunt but I'm only doing this to help you. The percussion as well doesn't say ambience to me. It's a good start though. I'll mail you some improvements as you requested.

DJ-Diceman responds:

alright, thanks for the tips, i kinda get most of it and ill see what i can do
as for the ambience... i really didnt know where to put it, so i think ambience i the wrong spot to put it

I am a producer and a tough critic. Give me anything and I'll be brutally honest.
